After our original/debut showcase was tragically SNOWED OUT due to an ill-timed 3″ blizzard (ah, December, when snowfalls were under a foot at a time) we are very, very excited to be back! We’ll be hosting our redux event (same great games, same cool devs, same big fun) at a NEW venue – Portland Community Media! This event is FREE, ALL AGES, and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

Altcade is an evening dedicated to sharing unconventional videogames created by artists & game designers. Part arcade, part art gallery, Altcade is an opportunity to connect with altgames: videogames that break conventions and subvert the medium to produce experiences that lie distinctly outside of those available in traditional games.

Altcade is inspired by Vancouver, BC’s Heart Projector Arcade, which curates quarterly evenings of weird games collected from the four corners of the internet in the form of a playable gallery. For our this event, we teamed up with them to curate a fascinating lineup of #altgames. The lineup will include games by local artists like Hannah Piper Burns, Paige Ashlynn, and Dante Douglas, as well as a plethora of games from strange and distant lands!
