Opening Night of the 26th Cascade African Film Festival

The Cascade African Film Festival showcases 18 outstanding feature, documentary and short films from 11 African countries: Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, and Ethiopia. This year the Thursday Evening Documentary Film Series showcases documentaries that investigate how music and the performing arts can be a powerful force for social change and cultural expression in times of both war and peace.
The Opening Night film The Rooftops directed by Algeria’s foremost film director, Merzak Allouache, on Friday, February 5, at 6:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. at the Hollywood Theatre, 4122 N.E. Sandy Blvd. Mr. Allouache will introduce and discuss his film at both screenings.
All films will play at PCC Cascade’s Moriarty Arts & Humanities Bldg, Room 104 with the exception of Opening Night and Centerpiece Films, which will play at Hollywood Theatre.
