Pioneer Courthouse Square transforms itself into a temporary garden for the Festival of Flowers starting June 3rd. Definitely worth a walk through before the flowers start to wilt by June 14th. The legendary Rose Festival Starlight Parade will slow traffic as it makes it’s way through downtown on June 4th. Keep a look out for ships & sailors during Fleet Week beginning June 8th. The kids get their own parade on the 8th as well, filling the Hollywood District with marching bands and dancing during the Rose Festival Junior Parade. Visit the Lloyd Center Mall and gaze in wonder at 40,000 blooms on display, June 9th & 10th, as part of the 128th Annual Spring Rose Show.
The Rose Festival isn’t the only free ride in town: June 25th signals the World Naked Bike Ride. That same weekend is the Good in the Hood Festival and the Northeast Portland Sunday Parkways street party.
