…to my pet project: elecheapopdx.com. I’ve wanted to compile a free events website for Portland, Oregon for quite some time. I’ve lived in this city all my life, in my childhood my parents took me to the first first Thursdays before the whole Pearl District existed. During high school, I lived downtown and basked in free events in Pioneer Courthouse Square from the bourgeoisie Tuba Christmas featuring Pink Martini to the “weird” pillow fight to the adult free dildo giveaway. In college, I enjoyed free music shows, art lectures and films. Some of my best memories were a result of a free adventure (free Weezer concert in 2013, anyone?). Even though I don’t get out as much as I used to I still am enticed by a discount day or free celebration and I’m guessing you are too. Enjoy!
