DESCRIPTION:Witness traditional dancing\, singing\, and drumming at the 11th annual Dancing in the Square Pow-wow. Grand entry at 3pm.\n\nHosted by the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB)\, American Indian Day celebration was held in 2006 for the first time to signify the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA)\, which at the time was making its way through Congress. To educate the general public about Indian health issues\, NPAIHB started holding a “powwow\,” a traditional way to communicate their culture and Indian Health education.
