DESCRIPTION:The Portland Winter Light Festival (PWLF) is a free\, public\, light arts and cultural event that will illuminate and transform OMSI February 3-6\, 2016 from 5-10pm each night. This inaugural festival is designed to showcase unique light-based art\, engage Portland’s diverse communities and create remarkable opportunities for artists\, makers\, performers and technology innovators. On the east bank of the Willamette River\, the festival will develop collaborations and partnerships\, foster community participation\, and attract a diverse cross-section of visitors nightly after sunset.\n\nPWLF is an all-volunteer organization and is an event of the Willamette Light Brigade.

DESCRIPTION:Be the first to witness the unveiling of a never-before-documented geologic wonder in the Oregon wilderness: a hidden gorge featuring a chain of 10 waterfalls - including two 100-foot waterfalls fed from different sources - and unusual rock features\, such as a slot canyon and a vaulted grotto fringed with ferns and trees.\n\nOregon Field Guide's "Discovering Valhalla: Oregon's Hidden Gorge\," takes you deep into this spectacular canyon for an unforgettable adventure. It recounts the gorge's discovery and illuminates the impact of finding this hidden gem in the heart of Oregon's wilderness. It also highlights the canyon's extreme dangers\, which safety experts advise should only be approached by expert canyoneers.\n\nAn expedition team of 24 individuals explored the gorge in July 2015.
